When considering connecting an iron wire wrapped around the back of the cast-iron back piece (of the single phase, I-10, General Electric AC meter) to a large iron mass to enhance power output, it may be necessary to short out the connection from the meter to the inductive load in order to prevent all of the power of the load passing through the meter to prevent frying the meter because the meter may be acting as a mere signal generator while the load provides its own power.!
The cast-iron backpiece already adds iron mass to the unit in addition to the mass of the toroid inside the unit and thus is already intended to help the meter handle the generation of power for any loads in addition to the meter itself acting as a load. So connecting the cast iron backpiece to a iron mass via an iron wire merely adds more mass than what the backpiece already adds to the capability of the meter to handle any load larger than itself.

This is why when you translate the English term of “reactance” into the Russian language, you cannot find an equivalent term in their language. Instead, they use the word “active” to signify reactance suggesting their tunnel vision view of reactance as being purely a transient when in fact it can be other things as well.
But their translational emphasis points out the weirdest aspect of reactive power as being the phenomenon of a transient which we know so little about because we refuse to believe that we can have an effect without a cause; or if you prefer, the reversal of time.
Either way, it’s barking up a tree that physicists, here in the West, don’t want to go and admit, openly, to these alternative interpretations of what constitutes the existence of a transient.

I dabble in progressive thinking by comparison to "common sense".
I have access to sources of information that the common person does not have access to, namely: access to my soul containing the memory (ie, legacy) of all of the people who have come before me attached to my soul, and access to a courtesy copy of the Akashic Records whose original copy is normally assessible only by enlightened people (people who are no longer subject to their karma and, thus, no longer required to reincarnate; they've graduated from out of the human sphere of existence).
Some people claim that the Akasha is the Sanskrit term for what is known in the West as, the Aether. Scientists know these entities as good 'ole empty space.
But try telling an artist that his canvas is empty and he'll disagree claiming that it is full of potentialities (ie, memories) as yet undreamed of.
Some people claim that the Aether is best represented in mathematics by the square root of negative one for which there is no physical proof of its existence. It is, purely, a fictionalized entity dreamed up by Heron of Alexandria which elegantly solves certain problems which cannot be solved any other way.
The existence of free energy just happens to be one of those situations. And I am one of those people who subscribe to this definition of the Aether/Akasha. And Eric Dollard is another along with: Franco Bruno Corteletti.
